Raceway sound is a stable and continuous noise generated by the rolling element rolling in the raceway when the tapered roller bearing rotates. It only attracts people's attention when its sound pressure level or tone is extremely high. In fact, the sound energy excited by the raceway sound is limited. For example, under normal circumstances, the raceway sound of high-quality FAG bearings is 25-27dB. This type of noise is most typical of bearings that bear radial loads, and it has the following characteristics:
a. Noise and vibration have randomness;
b. The vibration frequency is above 1kHz;
c. No matter how the rotational speed changes, the main frequency of noise remains almost unchanged, while the sound pressure level increases with the increase of rotational speed;
d. When the radial clearance increases, the sound pressure level increases sharply;
e. As the stiffness of the bearing seat increases, the total sound pressure level decreases. Even if the speed increases, the total sound pressure level does not increase significantly;
f. The higher the viscosity of the lubricant, the lower the sound pressure level. However, for grease lubrication, its viscosity and the shape and size of the soap fibers can both affect the noise value.
The origin of raceway sound is caused by the inherent vibration of the ring after being loaded. Due to the elastic contact between the ring and the rolling element, a nonlinear vibration system is formed. When lubrication or machining accuracy is not high, inherent vibrations related to this elastic feature are excited, and when transmitted to the air, they become noise. As is well known, even if the highest manufacturing technology of contemporary technology is used to process tapered roller bearing parts, there will always be varying degrees of small geometric errors on the working surface, resulting in small fluctuations between the raceway and the rolling body, which excites the inherent vibration of the vibration system.
Although the raceway noise of FAG bearings is inevitable, high-precision machining of the working surface of the parts, correct selection of bearings, and precise use of bearings can be adopted to reduce noise and vibration.
The so-called burn damage state of bearings refers to the rapid heating of the bearing's raceway wheel, rolling element, and cage during rotation until discoloration, softening, deposition, and damage occur.
The main reason for the burn of tapered roller bearings is due to poor lubrication of the bearings, which may have resulted in the use of non-standard lubricants or excessive or insufficient lubricants, both of which are incorrect.
Secondly, it may be excessive load (excessive preloading). Excessive speed. The clearance is too small. There is water or other foreign objects invading. If neither of the above situations is true, then the accuracy of the shaft and bearing box is poor, and the deflection of the shaft is large. Seeing this, I think everyone wants to know the solution. Firstly, we need to study lubricants and lubrication methods, choose the right bearing lubricant and its dosage, and correct the selection of FAG bearings. Research needs to be done on coordination, bearing clearance, and preloading, as well as improving sealing devices. Check the accuracy of the shaft and bearing housing. Of course, if you have an expert next to you, it would be best if you let him operate and learn from him!
It is recommended to pay attention to the installation, lubrication, clearance, and other aspects as accurately and accurately as possible when using tapered roller bearings.
