The requirements for the uniformity of chemical composition, the content and distribution of non-metallic inclusions, and the distribution of carbides in bearing steel are very strict. It is one of the most stringent steel grades in all steel production and is also a commonly used material for thrust ball bearings.

Thrust ball bearing is a type of separated bearing, where the shaft ring and seat ring can be separated from the components of the cage and steel ball. The shaft ring is a sleeve ring that matches the shaft, and the seat ring is a sleeve ring that matches the bearing seat hole, with a gap between it and the shaft; Thrust ball bearings can only withstand axial loads, unidirectional thrust ball bearings can only withstand axial loads in one direction, and bidirectional thrust ball bearings can withstand axial loads in two directions; Thrust ball bearings cannot limit the radial displacement of the shaft, and the limit speed is very low. Unidirectional thrust ball bearings can limit the axial displacement of the shaft and housing in one direction, while bidirectional bearings can limit the axial displacement in both directions. Thrust roller bearings are used to withstand axial and radial combined loads, but the radial load shall not exceed 55% of the axial load. Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this type of bearing has a lower friction coefficient, higher rotational speed, and has centering performance.
