Ceramic bearings have the following magical advantages over all steel bearings:
1. High speed and acceleration ability - can operate under conditions with DN values exceeding 3 million, and can reduce slipping, wear, and heat generation;
2. Long lifespan and wear resistance - The fatigue life of all ceramic bearings is expected to be 10-50 times longer than that of all steel bearings, and the lifespan of hybrid ceramic bearings is also about 3-5 times longer than that of all steel bearings;
3. Very little lubrication is required - the friction coefficient of ceramic materials is low, and ceramic bearings lubricated with oil have a lubricating ability that is not lower than traditional lubricants commonly used in steel bearings even when the lubricating oil becomes thin or lean;
4. Wear resistance - Due to the inert nature of ceramic materials, they are more resistant to corrosion and wear;
5. High rigidity - due to the high elastic modulus of ceramic materials, their rigidity is 15-20% higher than that of ordinary steel bearings;
6. High temperature resistance - all ceramic bearings can operate at temperatures above 500C;
7. Low torque - According to the structure, the torque of ceramic bearings is reduced by about 1/3;
8. Non magnetic and non-conductive - Ceramic bearings are not damaged by magnetism or electricity.
With the deepening of research and breakthroughs in a large number of manufacturing technologies, the application prospects of ceramic bearings in high-speed, high temperature, corrosion resistance and other fields will be very promising.
