The reduced Si reacts with the generated MnCx to form a silicon manganese alloy, which promotes the reduction of Si. The more Si is generated, the more the carbide is destroyed, and the lower the carbon content of the alloy. When the silicon content of the alloy is lower than 23.5% (such as silicomanganese 10, silicomanganese 14, silicomanganese 17 and silicomanganese 20), silicon destroys the reaction of carbide.
